We keep a large selection of have Japanese Maples throughout the year. Many are suitable for growing in containers to live on a deck or porch. Most Japanese Maples have appealing, brightly colored new Spring growth and a variety of colors when leafed out all Summer. In Fall, you will have yet another show of changing colors. And if you choose one of the Coral Bark maples, you will have an eye-catching, colorful, trunk and branches in the landscape all Winter as well!

Noted for its beautiful spring foliage. Small, palmate, 5-lobed leaves (to 1" long) emerge chartreuse with orange-tinted margins in spring, mature to bright green by summer and finally turn pastel shades of orange and yellow in fall.
Narrow-lobed, strap-like foliage. Spring foilage (on “old” wood) is very fine and essentially string-like.
Later in the season, the leaves that emerge on “new growth” have lobes that are longer and broader, although still considered “narrow.” Leaves emerge green with crimson tints, but soon become all green -- and remain so throughout the summer. Fall color is golden yellow, sometimes becoming orange or crimson. Often, the earlier, string-like foliage turns golden first, creating a gold and green effect until the broader, later-emerging foliage develops its own fall color.

By summer, the leaves have acquired green and white tints among the pink, and the red has darkened to burgundy. You can clearly see 4 or more distinct colors on most leaves, though no two will look just alike!
